  • Designed for the younger student, or someone with a busy schedule.

    Cost: $50 per lesson

  • Designed for the engaged student, with plenty of lesson time to cover a variety of concepts.

    Cost: $65 per lesson

My approach to teaching

My goal as a music teacher is to inspire students by teaching them music that excites them, but also to challenge them with songs and exercises that will improve their technical and theoretical ability. I like to incorporate elements of songwriting and improvisation as well, to allow students to truly express themselves with their own music. I’m experienced in teaching a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, metal, blues, pop, r&b, funk, jazz, and more.

Typically I will come in-person to the student’s house on a weekly basis. I also provide online lessons.

As far as payment goes, I currently accept Venmo, cash, or checks. Lesson rates are listed above in the “Available Lessons” section near the top of the page, and I offer 50% off the first lesson. I require a 24-hour notice for any cancellations.

More about the teacher

Hello! My name is Will Stover, and I love teaching music! I am a San Diego native with 20+ years of guitar-playing experience. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music, and I have been a music teacher for the past 5+ years. Aside from teaching, I record my own music and I play guitar in the metal band Ayanami.
